What does tragedy mean to us now?
How has the staging and performing of Greek tragedy been transformed over the years?
I will guide you in developing tragic characters through the use of monologues, play and performance. Exploring tragedy through both the voice and body, participants will gain a deeper understanding of traditional Greek practices, as well as a range of transferable skills to apply to all kinds of theatre making.
An interactive workshop for performers, directors, and theatre makers of all kinds. This is a virtual event to be held over Zoom.

"MY ARTISTIC SELF AND THE CHARACTER"
ONLINE WORKSHOP 5-9 OCTOBER 2020
This workshop is open to everyone wishing to learn new tools on building a character.
It is about harnessing the freedom to explore and develop yourself as an actor.
I am here to share my approach and help you find your way in developing your character. I am here to connect, get inspired by all of you and have fun together.
It is hard to be creative under these crazy circumstances. Let’s use this time to polish our craft, learn new things, or even plan our future lives.
We will talk, we will practise, we will share and above all, we will have fun.
So,
How do we start then?
How do we build an engaging character?
How can we always be present in the moment?
How do we explore and develop the different dimensions a character has?
How do we overcome any blockages in this exploration process?
How can we create an attention-grabbing relationship with the audience?
And ultimately let’s build our own toolbox in order to create a unique and meaningful performance.
In these 4 days we will work on 2 monologues. On the last day each of you will present the monologue of your choice.
We will focus on the specific steps a performer takes from entering the rehearsal room, to researching and discovering the character, until the delivery of the final performance.
Each session will start with a quick introduction on some theatre practitioners’ approaches together with the relevant vocabulary and end with a short Q&A.
5-9 October 6-8pm (UK) Price: £60
